When I first envisioned BTRFLY, I knew I wanted to create something more than just skincare. I wanted to build a sanctuary—a peaceful space where beauty connects deeply with inner healing and unconditional love.
But I never expected that the true soul of this brand would be inspired by a heartbreaking loss, and a beautiful answered prayer.
Back in September 2025, I was going through a very heavy time, dealing with a wave of deep sadness and apathy. With the winter months approaching, I remember asking for a spark of magic, a reminder of hope to help me get through the darkness. At the time, my closest companion was my beloved bunny pet, Lotus. He was the absolute heart of our family, surrounded by so much love. Lotus was an incredibly sweet soul, but he was also very sensitive. Whenever we left the house, he would stress, refuse to eat, and stay glued to my feet the moment we returned. We longed to take him with us out into the world, to restaurants and travels, but it was just too much for his anxious little heart.
It was during this time, out of pure, endless love for my sweet bunny, that I decided to honour his name in my skincare line. I named our special eye cream the Renaissance of Lotus Eye Cream. Back then, he was perfectly healthy, and absolutely nothing predicted the tragedy that was coming. It was a beautiful, intuitive choice to honor his gentle presence.
But later that November, the unthinkable happened. Lotus had a terrible accident—he fell from the sofa and severely injured his back. For two agonising weeks, I did absolutely everything to save him. We visited different vets, gave him fluids, and fed him gently through a syringe. I prayed for a miracle, but my sweet boy was tired. As he took his very last breath in my arms, something extraordinary happened. In that room, I experienced a powerful, vivid vision—I felt his beautiful soul transition into the living energy of a dog.
Later, heartbroken, but searching for comfort, I went online. And there, against all odds, I found a listing for a newborn black curly poodle puppy. He looked exactly like the comforting vision I had just experienced. He was born on the very same day Lotus left us.
We brought him home and named him Phantom—our living miracle.
Today, Phantom is growing into the wisest, most intelligent protector. The most incredible part? He naturally chose to sleep in the exact same spots Lotus used to love. He chews the very same corners of the wardrobe that Lotus never finished. Their connection breaks all laws of physics—it is a reminder that true love never truly leaves us, it simply transforms to become closer to us.
